Abstract

Today, with the increasing development of technology and innovation, the Line Follower Robot is one of the examples of these technologies. The Line follower robot is a mobile machine that can detect and follow the line drawn on the floor. Generally, the path is predefined and can be either visible like a black line on a white surface with a high contrasted color or it can be invisible like a magnetic field, and here is used the ultrasonic sensor for detecting the obstacle in front of the robot . Therefore, this kind of Robot should sense the line with its Infrared Ray (IR) sensors that installed in front the robot. Hence, the Arduino microcontroller is going to decide the proper commands and then it sends them to the driver and the line follower robot will follow thus the path and obstacle will detect by ultrasonic sensor. The robot is driven by a DC gear motor and a DC servomotor for steering control with an Ackerman system to control the movement of the wheels. Arduino communication is used to run and implement algorithms to control the speed of the motors and guide the robot to move along the line smoothly. The aim of this project is to implement the algorithm for controlling the movement of the robot with the correct adjustment of the line following robot on a contrast line and as a result achieve better performance.
