Call for Paper, Special Issue on Towards Smart Vehicles

September 2020

Vehicles in future transport are expected to be smarter, and certainly provide benefits such as increased road safety, mobility services and customers' travelling satisfaction. The Internet of Things (IoT) and Deep Learning (DL) are two ground-breaking technologies that enable smart vehicles to be real. IoT devices, e.g., sensors and cameras, not only provide tremendous amount of information essential for smart vehicles but also create a serious data processing headache. Deep learning, on the other hand, has lowered barriers of data processing by converting the handcrafted-engineering into an autonomous-learning scheme. The burden of IoT data processing has shifted from human-side to computer-side, non-experts to apply deep learning to effectively generate state-of-the-art IoT data processing and ultimately benefit smart vehicles. Papers describing advanced prototypes, systems, tools and techniques and general survey papers indicating future directions are also encouraged.
